Shopping Bag from South East (I)

I just came back from a wonderful week long holiday in Singapore & Kuala Lumpur! I'm happy to be back because i missed my friends,my room, my non disruptive internet and phone connectivity (the most) and well my life here in general. But yes, the holiday was super fun too! It was such a good break, these places are great holiday spots..if you like travelling MUST put them (especially singapore) in your list of places to go!
but this blog is about shopping so i'm not gonna convert it into my travel stories (although great name for a travel blog, right !) and tell you about some good stuff I bought there ! so here goes...

one of my FAVORITE purchase-- OPI nail paints. this package has 10 awesome shades which is kool because I can always buy later the ones I like out of these. Also I got 10 shades worth $40 which is pretty kool !..I love duty frees :)
oh and all of them have such funky names like "tickle my france-y", "cajun shrimp", "I'm not a waitress" to name a few !

Confession: i LOVE Victoria's Secret! i don't own a pair of their lingerie which they are actually famous for, but yes their beauty products are super awesome! I was first introduced to it  4 years back when I saw one of their fashion shows and after that, when someone i new went to states they got me a victoria's secret body lotion..it was called "pure seduction". After that, this is THE only brand i use for body lotions coz they smell like heaven (..seriously !)and are brilliant moisturizers especially when you live in a place like delhi where the winter is all set to dry-kill your skin  so i HAD to pick this one up-->  "love spell"  this is my favorite & i'm on a short supply of it!

i also wanted to pick up it's new perfume which had a very "Moulin-Rouge" like bottle but as i have Miss Dior waiting in line along with some others i decided to pick up a body mist instead..yes i know..its just a slightly unpolished cousin of a perfume but its good..okay! and would be perfect for spring !
Body mist also had a HUGE variety; different colors, really eye-catching names and off course great fragrances but the weird part was they din't have caps !like none of them..i have no idea whats up with that .but i did like this the best --->

I highly recommend Victoria's secret products by the way, must pick up a few next time you travel !

Ok this was a lipstick set my mom picked up. This a pack of 3 neutral shades, so should go with most skin tones. the best part-- VERY long lasting and brilliantly water proof, well CLINIQUE is famous for its quality.

I like the names, they sound so nice ! the first one, "all heart" din't appeal much to my mom and she suggested that I use it, off course i willingly obliged ;)

CLINIQUE is thankfully available in India and you must try their other products, basically skin care, as they are really good. I know this girl who used it for getting rid of acne, it was a whole regime of 4-5 products and it worked..so well !

if you live in delhi, you can check out their small little shop in Select Citywalk mall.

yes the quintessential Apricot Scrub ! I'm sure the whole world uses it. St Ive's is known for its Apricot Scrub among other things. I've been very loyal to this scrub since i was 15 years old. Although its usual variant is available every where in India, even the cosmetic shops in our local markets are selling it, I found this "invigorating" one there and decided to try it.
But an (uncalled for) advice that I would like to give you is that do not use it (apricot scrub regular or any other variant) more than thrice a week. Its pretty strong. and PLS follow it up with your daily moisturizer. I'm no expert on skin care but on this you can trust me.
the last product, L'OREAL Paris  nourishing shampoo. I havnt seen it in Delhi markets and god knows my hair needs all the nourishing, revitalizing, Repairing etc etc products it can get. Chemically treated hair is a real mess after a year. I'm a living example of that. I bought this just incase. who knows, it might help. When I try it i shall let you know !

More stuff from my shopping bag in the next posts!
Share your shopping experiences with me and I'm open to feedback, suggestion and your experiences with similar or other products.

 adios for now  :)

scent of a woman

Its obvious that smelling good is part of the dress code at all times. Whether you are at work or at a special event it is essential that you smell good. It goes without saying that one should also not over use or do what is called "perfume-abuse". But the problem with perfumes is that the good ones are a bit expensive, atleast for us, the student-non-earning-low-allowance community. Although that is NO excuse to buy cheap ones..! What I recommend is that one should save for like a few months and then invest in a really good one. Another (self tested) advice is whenever travelling abroad, specially with parents, pick some up from the duty free.It is much cheaper there and the variety is positively mind boggling !
One of my most favorite things about perfumes is the bottles they come in!.. The beautiful glass bottles adorned with surreal colors & fonts makes you truly wanna indulge. Another brilliant feature of perfumes is that they are liquid thus environment friendly, as they don't release any CFCs unlike deodorants. Also if used with care they last long in terms of both fragrance and quantity.Oh..! also they are one of THE BEST gifts.
Anyway, enough of talking. time for some photos !

1. GUCCI--ENVY ME

first of all..i LOVE the name ! This was my first perfume which I bought on my 16th birthday by saving my allowance. I have great affinity for it since it was my first (hehe) ! & it smells divine and look at the bottle..isn't it gorgeous !

2. NINA RICCI--APPLE
this one will make you feel beautiful. and the smell lingers for REALLY long. I just finished a bottle sometime back. Must have !

3. DAVIDOFF-- COOL WATER
this one is what I'm using at the moment. Although it sounds summery its perfect for any climate. Also its comparatively not that expensive and very easily available. Plus its good for all ages.

4. DIOR-- MISS DIOR

this one is my next! It smells perfect for a girl in her early twenties :) I love the little bow on it <3
I Totally recommend it !

5. GIVENCHY-- VERY IRRESISTIBLE
Another one with a brilliant name !This one has been on my wishlist for quiet sometime now. Gonna totally get it after miss dior ! ;) This one is also available "for him" . Needless to say, it smells amazing !

6. THIERRY MUGLER-- ALIEN
Doesn't the bottle look SO frikkin kool? this is another item one on my wishlist. I love the fragrance, the color and the bottle!..It would look so perfect kept..well..anywhere..! But don't let the name creep you out, It does not smell like an alien !(lol..not that i know how an alien would smell) but totally classy yet quirky !

7. CALVIN KLEIN-- BEAUTY
this one is here purely as a gift recommendation. Its something my mom uses and well its actually perfect for slightly older women. great gift on mothers day or a wedding anniversary (you can help your dad by suggesting this!).

8. ESTE'E LAUDER-- PLEASURES
This should have been much higher on this page! I have somewhat recently finished using this and all I would say is "don't let the bottle fool you !" Its a simple looking(almost to the extent of boring) bottle but the fragrance is one the BEST. It lives up to its name & brand!..MUST HAVE for all ages !!

These are among the best ones that I have had. Next time you think of indulging, indulge in a perfume! An expensive dress might get boring after three events but a perfume would interest you for much longer.. trust me on that ! Treat yourself on your birthday by saving up for your perfect/signature fragrance.Which one do you use? any suggestions or recommendations of good perfumes is welcome !

Good Things

Don't we all just love our rooms? Its the one place in the entire house, which can be personalized just the way I want it. Ranging from curtains to photos anything and everything is just according the way I want it to be. I'm the queen of this little universe and it feels great. Whenever I'm out of town, more than homesick, i get "roomsick". can you believe it?I ACTUALLY miss my room. And since i love my room SO much i decided to do a post on it.My room is a mixture of crazy, amazing, and funky  things! but obviously I'm not going to show you all of them ! :p
I have just picked out a few  things which are my favorite and easily available so  if you like, you can pick them up yourself:

1.Table Calendar

this is a calendar which will last forever !..you can figure out why--it just tells the day, date &  month.just flip it everyday and your good to go :)
I bought it from a Happily Unmarried shop for Rs 80. This shop has awesome stuff and they mostly have stores in most happening places in delhi & also sell their merchandise through some other stores but in case you haven't visited one, you can check it out online here.

2. Limited edition Audrey Hepburn framed poster
It was limited edition when I bought it ( which was 6 months ago) but it isn't anymore (sadly). Many stores are selling these kind of posters now. I purchased it for Rs 1500 from this shop in GK-I M-Block market called Rio. This is a brilliant shop. a MUST checkout for people with unusual yet classy tastes.

 3. I like to call this a Hanging Door Pillow . Its one of the most wonderful things in my room. Its supposed to be hung on the door, according to the situation ( written on da pillow).  I'm no heiress, but if you must know, it says "heiress" coz its designed by Nicky Hilton. She did her accessories range for CLAIRE's which is an international brand and not yet available in India. I picked it up from London more than a year back. But you can always order online or get any family/friends etc living in europe/usa to get stuff  for you !
I agree its the girliest things ever but i love it ! :)

4.  Poster
I picked this up from a random online poster brand about three years ago, so i don't exactly remember what it was. But what I do remember is that I picked 3 posters in total and paid only Rs 1300 for the total, which was pretty reasonable considering the other 2 posters were of rock bands and much bigger in size. All three posters are still in brilliant condition stuck in different parts of my room. the moral here is to explore the internet thoroughly as there are alot of great deals available online for like everything!.

So these are some of the kool things in my room. What about you?..gimme some feedback !<3

PS: not paid by anyone to promote any merchandise here.

Shameful Shampoo

Today i feel like writing about this particular shampoo i used and did NOT like. Its Dove hair-fall rescue (and no, i'm not paid by any rival company to defame them!). Its winter and well I'm sure most of us suffer from dry scalp and thus the inevitable hair fall. so i tried it. Reason: since they have been campaigning about it for SO long and somehow were successful in convincing me! Anyway, it smelled great and lathered well ( I count them as qualities because obviously i don't want my hair to smell bad AND many shampoos don't lather well, which is kinda frustrating !). But later, after the wash, my hair turned into a frizzball !!and i DID use the conditioner. Oh my.. the pain that followed..those were really pathetic three days of my life. I have never had such frizzy hair in my life !! and i vouch never to use that shampoo again.and WHY is it so cold here in delhi, god.. its an effort to take a shower, let alone wash hair..*shiver shiver*.

one of my friends always says "everything does not suit everybody". mostly this is in reference to clothes but obviously it applies to shampoos too. so what shampoos do you guyz use? and how are they?

cheers! :)

Delhi Haat!

So yesterday I went to Delhi Haat as the "Dastkaar" bazaar is going on there. this is THE place if you are a handicrafts junky. I love this concept of delhi haat, as it gives opportunities to local craftsmen from all over India to showcase their goodies. Also gives us, the city dwelling, materialistic, mall going, west influenced crowds to gather some beautiful, indigenous, hand-crafted piec es of clothing, bags, jewelry, home care products and what not !..not to mention,at VERY reasonable prices.

so anyway, this is what I bought !

I HAD to buy this red muffler as soon as i saw it. It was available in black & nave blue as well but i thought this pinkish-red color would brighten any dull dreary winter morning! It is also super soft and warm.
Price quoted: Rs 450
Price i got it for: Rs 350! :) (haggling works honey !)

these are wall hangers. they were available in all kinds of vibrant colors & patterns. Also different sizes and shapes.I personally loved these blue ones & bought individual pieces as opposed to a 2-3 piece joined hanger. they are ceramic on the surface and the base is rot-iron. apparently they can handle upto 3kg of weight !I plan to hang my daily jholas :)

Price: Rs 50 per piece

This shop also had alot of other great stuff like jewelry boxes and small wooden drawer set.must check it out !

so this was all I bought as I went on sudden notice with not much money. I plan to go again soon !
PS: this is the delhi haat opposite INA market on Aurobindo road (not the one in pitampura).

I hope it inspires you to go soon and check the place out!
