Life is Complicated..Deal With It !

SO...recently I came across the following image. I had seen it being shared all over facebook before but then it didn't really bother me. But today it did. And to a GREAT extent if I may say so. And you know WHY it bothered me?.. Well because its a LOAD OF CRAP! Yes ..there I've said it..! I think its mighty stupid to think that life can be un-complicated soo easily ! NO..it doesn't work like this !

For starters, ohk..I'm missing someone right now. But I can't call, because maybe I don't have the money to afford an national/international call, or even if I do, that person might be busy, contrary to my expectations..might NOT even wanna talk to me, or maybe just even when I do call, there would be nothing I would have to say..It'll be awkward .And then I'll just end up feeling even more miserable !..OR maybe I'm missing ALOT of people right now..then what?..and what if i'm missing someone whose dead..whats your answer there huh "lets-uncomplicate-life" picture!?!

Same goes for " wanna meet?..so invite!" . Yes why not.. Nobody's frikkin free in this era to jump into impromptu meeting plans..Immense amounts of coordination and planning goes into meeting people these days..no matter who..and even if time is not a constraint, then maybe money or availability of tickets/transport or traffic WILL prove as hurdles..Its really NOT that simple !

Ohk next..YES i want to be understood, but maybe I don't wanna sit around and give explanations for everything I do..Nobody's gonna ask for it either..because its not right..some things have to be understood on their own..Plus explaining everything is exhausting !..I'd rather conserve energy..Will deal with misunderstanding later !
As far as asking questions is concerned, if you're a student or learning something new then you definitely should ask as many questions as you can..But otherwise.. STFU.. !..Its annoying !

I'm a very honest & frank person, believe in clearly stating out things I don't like (this post for example) but I've seen its not taken that well. For small things like a dress or food sure..but if it personality traits or behaviors or actions..Then you're just setting yourself up for further "complications"..But this one is personal, diplomacy is not always the best thing and neither is staying quiet..so well..

Yea this one I believe in..stating you like something generally doesn't hurt..plus compliments help in relationships..Although same cant be applied to people..If you start telling everyone you like that you like them..It'll be just messy..really messy thanks to 10,000 interpretations & consequences of such stuff..

Want something?..Hmmm yes, I want Bill gate's money, Katrina Kaif's looks and Ashton Kutcher or Sidharth Malhotra for a boyfriend !...There I said it..Now what?.. If I go and ask them for these things..you know what will happen!..LOL..so..why..No need man?! :o

The last one is very nicey nice..sugar coated chocolate hearts! But again I'm sorry but I don't think its that easy..Ask Megan Fox's fans !...LOL..

Song Obesession

Have you ever loved a song SO much that you listen to it ALL the time?..Day, night, before sleeping, after  waking up, while taking a shower, while driving etc etc.. And sometimes even when your not listening to it, its  playing in your mind or you just end up humming it!?!?..

You know the lyrics, you always sing along, its the most played song on your playlist, the lyrics end up on your status mssg on Whatsapp , BBM and Fb, you suddenly start thinking that the artist/lead singer is freakkin attractive, you start googling them (if you already didn't know) and just in the shortest time they become your new obsession..stealing away all your constructive attention..

The worst is when you forget everything else..music wise..all the songs you were so in LOVE with like yesterday(!) become "hmm..bleh..I'll listen to it later"..WHAT HAPPENED!?!?!..

Trust Me ..Its like a spell was cast..Music is probably like magic..An art form that transforms you..I think every song I have ever obsessed over or loved has transformed me in some way or the other..Its One of the most creative creations, ever..!

Sometimes its the lyrics, sometimes the music, sometimes the voice, and if your lucky then its the entire package..three or four minutes of sheer AWESOMENESS..

Some of the songs that I clearly remember obsessing over are:

• Guns & Roses- Patience
• Our Lady Peace- Somewhere Out There
• Roxette- Must have been Love
• Adele- Someone like you
• Cocktail- jugni
• Coldplay- Yellow

And most recently, Justin Timberlake- Mirror.. I'm TOTALLY, Completely and with all my heart in LUURRVVV with this song...

The list would be endless if I include each and every song I have been in love with since I found out what a bliss music is..

1 coke please!

So I just came back from dining out. This post is not about the food I had there, the cuisine, the service or even the restaurant. Its about loyalties. The very simple question of Coke vs Pepsi. Here is what happened:
(No offense intended to anybody; I KNOW English is a second language here in Indonesia--so don't judge)

Me: ..and also 1 coke
Waiter: you mean Coca Cola?
Me: uh.. Yea! (Coz its not like I can order cocaine and get away with it!..and I'm out with my parents..! hello..!!LOL)

After a brief moment of laughter inside my head 

Waiter: diet or regular?
Me: Diet is fine
.
.
.
.
.
after 10 minutes
Waiter (carrying a tray with a can of Pepsi on it): Sorry we no have diet coke
Me: no problem, bring regular coke
Waiter: Thats finish. Have pepsi?
Me: No. I don't want Pepsi
Waiter: Fanta?
Me: No (obviously..!)
Waiter: Sprite? 7up? Ice Tea?
Me: No. No. and uhm.. No. Just bring  me a bottle of mineral water please.
Waiter: so no Pepsi?
Me: NO!

This has happened with me after a really long time. I remember around 5-6 years ago it was a common phenomenon, that waiters would very politely offer you Pepsi instead of Coke, because a lot of restaurants just won't have it. Which was and still is, absurd...Its the best soft drink ever !..Hello..!..It beats Pepsi anyday. Why would anyone want to have an extremely sweet version of coke, when they can have regular coke..which is plain delicious !..

Oh..its the best feeling..popping open a can/ bottle of coke, pouring it into a glass or just drinking it straight out. Accompanied with fried food or actually any food. Put ice in it, and it just makes the world a better place. Its true..

 Even alcohol tastes better with coke. Have you ever heard anyone say.." I'll have a rum & PEPSI ..please"..Chheeeee..Yuckk.....its Rum & Coke..Vodka & Coke..even Whisky  and Coke..and all of these taste yummm...Its ALWAYS COKE.. even in the most random cocktails..

Its like going to a bakery and asking for chocolate cake (most awesome, most popular AND most delicious kind of cake ever..anywhere!) and instead being offered black forest cake !.YUCCKKKKKK......WHY would I purposely substitute black forest over chocolate, when chocolate is definitely what I WANT..No baker would be caught dead saying " Oh, we don't have chocolate cake"..What is possible though is, " Sorry chocolate cake is over" which I get, Coz EVERYBODY loves chocolate cake..and since its a perishable item, if its not available, its not..No hard feelings there.

But Coke isn't perishable. And trust me, Coke is to soft-drinks, what Chocolate is to cake. So if you do own/ plan to own a restaurant/ bar/ pub, I suggest you start stocking up...like NOW!

AWWWW...even babies get it!  ;)  :)

So.. yea..off-course COKE RULES over PEPSI..and i'm a loyalist. I will never in my sane mind have Pepsi, when Coke or any of its variants like Diet Coke or Coke Zero is available..If i want a soft drink its COKE..(or sprite, but that just feels like a different category..). And If i want cake..Its gonna be chocolate (or cheesecake)

And I'm sorry if your the kind who prefers Pepsi over Coke and black forest cake over Chocolate...In my eyes your weird..Sorry..thats the truth..
But if i know you & like you..then don't worry, I'll accept your weirdness anyway :P

Virtual Clutter !!

ACTUAL clutter wasn't enough..Now I have virtual clutter to mess up my life too.. Believe you me, its JUST two sems worth of documents, PDFs, Xcel sheets and whatnots...And I'm already going mad looking at the sheer amount of stuff I need to shift and rearrange...Offcourse I wrote a mini thesis and presented a poster (sort of) too..so yea..pile up the papers honey !!  Oh and did I mention all the space that my movies, songs and TV shows take..SO MUCH has to go in my external hard drive.. ITS INSANE!! Trying to be organized sucks... *hmph!*

I'm just TOO GLAD that this is not twenty five years ago when all this work was done and stored on actual paper..I would have gone half cuckoo by now just making folders and segregating each and every file in its respective place..and Imagine all the space those ten thousand folders would have taken...No room left to breathe!!..aarrgghhh..the thought is enough to choke me...

Don't worry..thats NOT my desktop !..I could NEVER save everything there..I like it nice and clean. But my "documents" and "downloads" folders are A MESS...I swear I would need a GPS device to track my way through it..Anyway, while I work hard on that..I'm gonna end this post with a positive note on clutter issues--->

So..yea..people..clean up your virtual clutter too..you don't want your device crashing down just cause your too lazy too click around ! *and anyway..its much easier than cleaning ACTUAL, the-I-can-touch-with-my-hands-kinda-clutter* ;-)

The Perfect Valentine...

Hmmm.. So, is there any particular valentines day that you remember?..somebody "special" who made the day "special"?..thought of him?..Ok..Good! now STOP thinking about him..Because i'm sure the following list of hotties will anyway make you forget.. :P. 

Following is the list of some people who I would characterize as the "Perfect Valentines"

Ryan Gosling  :) --> Mr. Gorgeous alert !!...

Isn't he just amazing..if you still haven't seen crazy stupid love or my blue valentine.. Then PLEASE download them today itself and watch his brilliant acting..and off course the SuperGoodLooks are hard to miss..!

Mr. David Beckham --> Hes a dream ! :)

Everybody remembers the weird girl in Bend it like Beckham who went so gaga over him that started playing football..!..LOL. But yea, his looks and his charm are enough to make any girl go cuckoo..even just by looking at him from the television ! :o 

Mr. Ashton Kutcher--> *mwahs*

He is just SO CUTE!..whether its Alot like Love or That 70's Show..or even the new seasons of Two n a Half men or No Strings Attached...(both of which i only saw because of him and absolutely nothing else)..this guy just wins you over with his tall-goofy-casual yet sooo dreamy charm. His smile lights up a thousand bulbs..somewhere..sigh :)

 

Mr. Timberlake--> had me at "friends with benefits" 

Its true..I didn't like him so much before. Even in  the social network..I was just mildly impressed..but Friends with Benefits is so far one of the movies I can watch again & again. I guess..a lot of not liking him came from the fact that he dated Britney Spears as a teenage pop-star..Plus his music..whether in N'SYNC or individually, had a few songs I liked but wasn't hugely part of my playlist ever..

The only Desi boy who I think would fall in the category of MY PERFECT valentines..His looks are cute..given..But thats not it..I like him for the unusual movies he does (socha na tha..such a cute movie!) and the fact that he is not like his cousins ( u know those with the dhai kilo ka haath) everything else is pretty wonderful about him..except that he has a very weird looking girlfriend ! :o ..sorry.. need to keep such jealousies under control..LOL

Other contenders from the Desi Boyz team, who ALMOST made it were Ranbir Kapoor, Imran khan and uhm...well....uhm....right, NO ONE!!.. yes thats the plight.. :(

So, anyway girls..non-celebrity boyfriends will come and go and please don't judge those poor souls on celebrity standards because then you will either be forever sad or forever alone..And no one wants that..

Anyway my dearies, on a brighter note, who is YOUR PERFECT VALENTINE??.. Do watch his movie/game/show/music video today! And if you feel like comment below and share :)

Free Advice

If there is one thing that I've learnt lately, its that.. EVERYTHING is an experience. Your entire life.. its just nothing but a bag full of experiences. And I don't mean "work ex" or "an adventurous experience" like skydiving or Bungee jumping etc..after which most people say.. "what an experience yaar..feel agayi !" Thats an experience too, sure..but what i'm talking about below is those everyday people which we can tend to(..asymptotic curve maybe? :P ) take for granted or basically, don't count daily life with them as a "RELEVANT EXPERIENCE". So here goes a list !

• Dealing with your parents: BIGGEST experience ever !..especially after a certain age. There are days when they either annoy you or don't understand you or just become a cause of your crazy-pendulum-of-a-mood-swing. I KNOW the reasons behind all the drama.. "generation gap"..or  "we just want the best for you"..or "we are passing on our knowledge to you"..etc etc... BUT if it annoys YOU, then its crucial to figure out the best coping strategy (which doesn't hurt anyone) as none of these explanations( & many more like them) work when you're storming to your room/ out of the house in anger..!
  My advice: Keep Calm and think of it as an experience in personal dealings (inventing stuff?..dunno :o). It is  hands down the LONGEST EXPERIENCE you'll get in dealing with  human relations/ crisis management/call-what-you-may..and if you're smart enough, this experience with your folks will help you deal with ALOT of other people in life ahead. SO be THANKFUL to them for that !

REMEMBER THIS and BE HAPPY ! :)

• Dealing with your friends: Even better..!..cause mostly these humans are of the same age group as you and think alike (alien voice effect). You can share everything with them and one really LEARNS ALOT from friends..So at their most annoying moments...My advice: Think of it as an experience in 'Patience & Tolerance Development' or 'how-to-overlook-dumb-things-of-people-you-love'.

OR MORE!! But they're ADORABLE!! :*

• Dealing with your enemies: Don't try to have any (enemies)..or hope that its not a mutual feeling between them & you (If its only from your side..its alright ..but then you should learn to forgive/ overlook). This would be more like an experience in 'anger management' or 'ways to ignore people i hate'.. LOL..although one can DEFINITELY do without this kinda experience.. :)

DON'T BE LIKE THIS!!

• Dealing with your BF/GF/Spouse: Hmmm..this is tricky ground and I cant even count myself as a self-taught expert here... plus valentines day is near!..so Ssshhhhh  :p
  My Advice: 'Please Read The Offer Document Carefully Before Investing !' You know what I mean !..*wink wink*

Hello December

The wait is over..!! :D

Now, I don't exactly "wait" for December as such, but yes its true..I'm pretty fond of this month

Its the month of B'Days (ME, some of my friends & cousins), Christmas Gifts, Holidays, Weddings and all kinds of end of the year Jazz

For me,its also the month when I start thinking about how the past year went...The highs & the  lows..Achievements & Failures..Entry & exit of people from my life..The places I went..What I learnt..etc etc.. Its basically a month of recap..like finishing of a chapter/para/page  in the story of 

MY LIFE 

Its just the 1st so the recap hasn't actually begun in full swing..plus frankly I'm not exactly in a mood to pen it down..at least not for now..So I'm just gonna put some images of stuff that became a  part of my life this year..Its REALLY RANDOM so be prepared..

Yup I'm a spectacled beauty now..If you've read THIS post you would know... ;)

I used to watch Popeye The Sailor Man as a kid and once Olive got her nails painted and they used wooden toe separators..even then I thought.."WOW..this is kool.." and since then I've ALWAYS wanted these and for some reason I NEVER found them..But this year I did..That too, in my local Daily Superstore..! :o
And isn't the nail filer just too cute ! :)

My new BB Curve 9380..Not only is it a brilliant phone but the best part is I bought it with my own self-earned money..Yea, I'm kinda proud that way..

The ONLY FICTIONAL book I read this year..Yes..shame on Me...But with the assignments, field trips, classes and all the madness I'm surrounded with I'm happy I managed to finish it..Its a good read by the way..

Knew about the brand NYX since quite some time now..But never manage to buy it. This year I finally did..from an online store. The nail polishes are called Wild (left) and Jewel (right) and the lipstick (center) called Dandy is from the Black Label Collection ..lovely natural shade.. I'm REALLY glad I finally bought NYX..Just LOVING the products !

(again I don't understand why it won't turn) 

So.. Yea.. A square ring...This is just here for the randomness..But I Like it.. So funky ! :)

Getting Senti(mental)

So recently, I've realized that I'm not Religious. At all. No, I'm not an Atheist either. But all the strong emotions that people of my country (& the neighboring country) attach to religion, I Don't have those. Like not even 5 % of that. and guess what.. i feel "blessed" for that.. ! hahahah :P

So, like a day back, a 21 year old got arrested for hurting "religious sentiments" of people in Maharashtra (post Bal thakeray's death ) read it here  . What exactly are religious sentiments?!?.. sentiments that i would attach to my religion?..or to god?..or both?..But why would my religion have "sentimental" value to me (or to anyone) anyway.. i mean what is religion?..its Faith..Its Belief...Its compassion.right.. Its just accepting that there is a power much higher than any of us humans..thats it.. PERIOD. And as far as sentimental value is concerned..I would probably attach that to something much more close to me..like maybe my grandmother's ring, or something i bought from my first pay check, or how people save their children's first shoes, toothbrush etc. THOSE & many like them are things with "sentimental value"..you cherish them or feel grateful for them or want to keep them safe..I don't understand how that works with religion.. (but that could be just my problem)

So, why attach "feelings" & "sentiments" to religion/ god..? why go out of your way and be head over heels over something that is not in our control. Whats the point?..Buttering the god does not help..believing in him does and even not believing will help as long as THAT gives you peace of mind. I see people, Hindus mostly, going out of their way to please the gods. Mata ki chowkis, fire crackers, and thousand & lakhs of money spent on arrangements for the same. Its a WASTE. How?--noise pollution, air pollution and what about people of other religions who are made to hear your "jai mata di" over the 10 loudspeakers you have installed all over your neighborhood..what about their "religious sentiments"..?.. not very secular..are we then?

Example..Today..its "chhat puja" ..now I don't know what that is. Frankly i can't care less. But I'm made to care ..as people somewhere near my house are praising this deity over weird songs through loudspeakers and also bursting crackers. And all I can think about is the exam tomorrow, which i clearly can't study for..Now, my parents have very nicely taught me to be religiously tolerant and thats why i tolerate the 5 time namaaz everyday coming out of the 2 mosques.. near my house. but when all this other religiousness accompanies it..i go MAD..yes..i hate it... Interestingly, I live in a posh neighborhood of South Delhi, and when you live in such areas you tend to not expect all this, but over the years..well, I've just become used to it..my tolerance is decreasing.. (as you can see from this Post) but as a civilized, non violent human being i'm sadly not gonna do anything about it (my declining tolerance & the events that are responsible for it), maybe except, write this post.

So basically, Hindus & Muslims in India at least,.. PLEASE keep your religion to yourself and don't go around arresting people who don't share your religious views. Learn something from other religions..like Sikhism & Budhhism. Also, stay true to your faith but let others stay true to theirs..Think of pleasing your god through helping others who are less fortunate & in need instead of disturbing your neighbors!. 

Lastly, I'm sorry if i offended you from what i've said above, that was not the intention. This is purely my point of view.

FACEPALM

Who ever invented this word is a genius ! Its true ! I mean, we have all been doing this action since we were born (lol) but knowing what its called makes life easier..doesn't it?..well it does for ME..!

So, yea..this post is about how life (mine in particular) is FULL of face palm situations..day in & day out !

Lets take the example of my hair.. today i shampooed it just like how i shampoo it every single time, but since its a sunday and i'm at home..my hair decides to look awesome.. on other days when i have to go out or well i'm out on a trip where people are taking my pictures..my hair is absolute madness !!..WHY?!?!...all i can do at that point---> *FACEPALM*

Aur suno.. So, I'm not a big believer in doing my assignments on time..why?. because procrastination is my middle name ! (if my parents are reading this..THIS was THEIR facepalm moment!). Anyway, the day I do decide to sit down and actually finish that "memo", I remember i have a blog to write !..and it happens EVERY  single TIME!!..i don't get it..how..why..FACEPALM!!

Then, stupid questions. I do believe that stupid questions are better than stupid doubts..yes i do..but thats only reserved for class..! in life..in general.. when people ask stupid questions i'm facepalm all over !!..example--> me: hey, are you coming to college today? they: yes..are you?" HELLOO...i used the word "coming" if i wasn't going then i would have used the word "going"..!!..now i have to attach my face to my palm just because you didn't pay attention in english in school !! :o LOL. I would love to do an entire post on stupid questions..just wait for another one of my memos ! ;)

Also, whenever i have to make the most important calls..its only & ONLY then that my phone decides to either run out of battery or balance..why?..cosmic powers uniting against me.. :o.?.. i don't know..i just FACEPALM

Oh!..like today.. I'm sitting peacefully at home..minding my own business..as i usually do..trying to concentrate on a reading..*rare moments of life* when somebody, somewhere near my house decides to burst the loudest cracker ever..!.. in the middle of the day..like literally..it was 12 pm !! :o :o  I'm not kidding i almost fell off my chair..! and as soon i recovered from the shock..forgot about the trauma it had caused..it happened again !!..and this time it was in a series..each more louder than before..OUCH..there went my concentration with the ozone-harming-pollutant-air...but off-course there's nothing I could do about it..except FACEPALM...

Anyway, there's only so much I can write now. Do share your facepalm moments with me if you feel like..!..and off-course important lesson --->

Cocktails anyone?

So I JUST saw Cocktail..(the movie..!)..yea I know its kinda late but whatever..I was busy and well had better things to do..Not that i'm free n all now..but somedays  you just WANT a drink right? Yea..So today..This was the cocktail I downloaded! ;)  (pun intended)

Hmmm..I'm not gonna write a review..its a little too late for that.. just gonna bullet point what I liked and what I didn't..Here Goes:

--> LIKES

 * the SCRIPT..!!.. It was a typical Imtiaz Ali..and I absolutely love his writing..! :)
 the dialogues had this colloquial-ness to them..which if you ask me is awesome..i hate corny and over-the-top filmy dialogues!!..seriously..we KNOW we are watching a film..please don't make it THAT obvious.!.!.Its relate-able when they talk like real people..n thumbs up to scriptwriters of cocktail for THAT!!

 * the DIRECTION..offcourse it wasn't THE best direction ever..but i feel it had its positives...That kind of stuff actually happens you know..rather it happens JUST lyk dat..specially that scene when Deepikas dancing in a crowded club..but she feels like shes dancing all ALONE...(feeling lonely in a crowded place..!..YES.. happens ALL the time..truth of LIFE)

 * Deepika's wardrobe...that's obvious ! I actually liked Saif's too

 * Music..

* SAIF...i feel hes an underrated actor..

 * the REAL point that the movie was trying to make(which I already know & follow in life and sincerely hope & wish that other people would follow too) ..BE FRANK..Don't bottle up you feelings.. and DON'T try to be something that your not..(that's for you deepika..when you recover and try to copy that Penty person..DID NOT suit u!!)

--> DISLIKES
* Boman Irani..seemed unnecessary in the movie !

* Randeep Hooda ..won't hurt you to eat a little bit skinny boy !..Go to Salman Khan..and come back looking like a MAN...instead of a 19 year old with AIDS!!

* How the movie sort-of steered towards the notion that " screw the girls who party..fall in love with the ablaa naari !" I really felt that at some places..BUT..Seeing the movie in totality and Imtiaz Ali's previous work AND the fact that it was basically a love story..I'm gonna give it a major benefit of doubt and IGNORE that feeling..

YUP..that's about it...I hope you weren't  expecting me to rate it in stars ! :P :P
