Marshmallows

Does the title remind you of pink & white rubbery sweet stuff that Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory) puts in his Cocoa or what people in Hollywood movies roast in bonfires?..Hhaha *evil smile* its not that !..Ok that was a little sadistic but seriously I've had marshmallows and frankly i think its the girliest food ever ! :))

BUT..this post is NOT about marshmallows..Atleast not the ones that we eat. Its about Marshmallows the flowers..!!..* yes even i din't know there was a flower called Marshmallow..!! *

ANYWAY
Recently, around 10 days back,  I bought a day cream from The Nature's Co called marshmallow. I had read many posts by fellow bloggers about their products and was curious to try some for myself. So i logged on to their website HERE and explored away !

Since I have dry skin issues and wanted a non greasy day cream with SPF i found this one in their Atmospure Range perfect. It doesn't talk about SPF in the pic above but the SA convinced me that it does have.. so I'm hoping !

Now what i like about this cream?

  • non greasy
  • GOOD moisturizing ability..lasts ALL day..
  • smells AWESOME
  • cute packaging
  • no breakouts on sensitive skin..atleast not till now

What i don't like?

  • The price ( I got it for INR 625)

Since it moisturizes pretty well I use it on alternate days. I like how fresh my skin looks after applying it..and for hours ! I would totally recommend it if you have dry skin. Although it claims its for all skin types I feel it might not suit someone with combination or oily skin.

Now although I haven't been asked by any PR representative to talk niceties about this company..I still will. As you know lately my posts have been about being Eco-friendly. Thus, in that respect The Nature's Co totally lives up to its name. Not only are all the products made from natural products & are vegan, they also contain no Parabens  and are not tested on animals. AND the packaging materials used are  recyclable and biodegradable...how great is that !..Love nature?..YES they do !

Plus they are very Eco-friendly in their sales approach as well. If you buy the products from the stores, you will get a cute little jute carry bag and also a soft copy of the bill would be sent to you encouraging you NOT to print it..!.. I think its pretty great :) their store in Delhi is in Select Citywalk and you can also check them out in the link given above !

Enjoy
Happy Shopping !

P.S. : visit their stores on Wednesdays they have discounts ! (shh..) ;)

color me green~ celebrities !

Happy Sunday all you lovely people ! Although I must say, my Sunday is NOT turning out that well..I'm neck deep in assignments & submission so gonna finish a quick post today which had been lying in my drafts fr a few days..
you probably would've heard about alot of celebrities hopping on to "be green"/ "save the Earth"/ "be Eco-friendly"  wagons but really who knows how much of whatever they claim is ACTUALLY true..
but there are a few exceptions:  yup THIS guy, Mr Leonardo DiCaprio.. is one of them..Prius (this Toyota car is an eco-freindly hybrid car btw )-driving, star co-wrote,co- produced and narrated the film 11th Hour, which discussed the state of the global environment and offered solutions to restoring the planet's ecosystems. Also, hes working on saving the polar bears from goin extinct thanx to global warming!..Pretty awesome work for a talented, sexy millionaire right?..i think so ! :) MUST check out the 11th hour HERE

Ok, now this particular person has a flawless taste. Not only does she look pretty but is also a REALLY good actress...yes Natalie Portman! now she n her hubby were seen at the Oscars sporting Eco-friendly rings!!.. sounded really weird to me at first but turns out the rings were made out of "Recycled Platinum" & "Conflict free diamonds" crafted by jeweler Jamie Wolf..totally would love to know what EXACTLY these things are..but sure if someone is willing to wear a recycled ring for the rest of their life..then i totally appreciate it !!..Although the ring is gorgeous..don't u think ! :) In addition, Ms Portman, also designed a vegan footwear line & is involved with Global Green USA.

Third one..Sting !.. remember "desert rose"? The rocker and his wife Trudie Styler launched a line of bags made out of elephant excrement to raise funds for a charity here in India. Styler told the Daily mail " We have been using elephant dung to make collectable bags to be sold in aid of the Mukti charity in India. It sounds pongy (smelly), but it doesn't smell !".

Next up..Cameron Diaz ! She was featured on the cover of  Vogue in June 2009 for being a nature's gal at heart !.. She is another celeb who rocks a Prius and even hitched a ride to the Oscars this year in a BMW Hydrogen 7 (ooh..fancy AND environmentally friendly !). She is also know for actively recycling, using energy saving appliances and starred in her own environmental friendly MTV reality show called Eco Trippin..!...

Lastly, Gisele Bundchen..Now this list was in no order, but if it was..she'l be pretty much at the top, but right after the Titanic hottie ! ;)
Gisele has many feathers to her green cap..She founded a Clean Water Project, has an Eco friendly skincare Line and even lives in a 22,00-square-foot-green home !..Pretty kool right?

I hope these fancy-rich ppl's contribution to the nature inspires you.. and even if it doesn't..just remember the mantra..Go Green !! :)

BTW...the Poll on your left <---
ends in 2 days .. so get voting ppl !!

Enjoy !

color me green~ bags

If you've read my last post (here) then you would know this is not about a new green bag but about bags which are Eco-friendly. How do you differentiate between a normal bag & an Eco-friendly bag? well the latter are made of completely natural materials: mostly cloth or jute. Now don't confuse leather bags as Eco friendly!..coz although they are made of a natural material but they are anything BUT Eco-friendly..(remember PETA?!?)
Also, some people might include paper bags in this category but I just fail to understand HOW..I mean you make paper out of trees right?!?..and cutting trees is NOT EQUAL to Eco friendly!!

Now jholas as they popularly known, are available everywhere these days. Taking Delhi in particular,   CP inner circle, Janpath, Dilli Haat, Pahaarganj and all the state emporiums on Baba Kharak Singh Marg have the shops to stop at if you want a good one at a reasonable price. Also many brands like Accesorize,  are selling them. But its your budget that should guide you.
I've had many pretty jholas over the years..my friends would know..but sadly don't have most of them in pictures..here are some current ones  !
from BE for Bags Rs200/-

picked up from Tate modern Art gallery in London

Everything has its Pros & Cons but for these bags I really can't find any Cons. So I'm gonna try to convince you with the following:

2) Available at VERY reasonable prices
3) Trendy
4) Available in all shapes, sizes, patterns, colors
5) Go well with Indian-wear (low-hanging-jholas especially)
6) Low maintenance--easily washable
7) Perfect for summer--they make the BEST beach bags ! ;)
8) Jute bags are perfect for carrying bottles

9) Helps local handicraft industry
10) Once they get old, can be used for household chores like bringing veggies, groceries etc! (see, like that ur ALSO saying NO to plastic..you should be proud !)
