1 coke please!

So I just came back from dining out. This post is not about the food I had there, the cuisine, the service or even the restaurant. Its about loyalties. The very simple question of Coke vs Pepsi. Here is what happened:
(No offense intended to anybody; I KNOW English is a second language here in Indonesia--so don't judge)

Me: ..and also 1 coke
Waiter: you mean Coca Cola?
Me: uh.. Yea! (Coz its not like I can order cocaine and get away with it!..and I'm out with my parents..! hello..!!LOL)

After a brief moment of laughter inside my head 

Waiter: diet or regular?
Me: Diet is fine
.
.
.
.
.
after 10 minutes
Waiter (carrying a tray with a can of Pepsi on it): Sorry we no have diet coke
Me: no problem, bring regular coke
Waiter: Thats finish. Have pepsi?
Me: No. I don't want Pepsi
Waiter: Fanta?
Me: No (obviously..!)
Waiter: Sprite? 7up? Ice Tea?
Me: No. No. and uhm.. No. Just bring  me a bottle of mineral water please.
Waiter: so no Pepsi?
Me: NO!

This has happened with me after a really long time. I remember around 5-6 years ago it was a common phenomenon, that waiters would very politely offer you Pepsi instead of Coke, because a lot of restaurants just won't have it. Which was and still is, absurd...Its the best soft drink ever !..Hello..!..It beats Pepsi anyday. Why would anyone want to have an extremely sweet version of coke, when they can have regular coke..which is plain delicious !..

Oh..its the best feeling..popping open a can/ bottle of coke, pouring it into a glass or just drinking it straight out. Accompanied with fried food or actually any food. Put ice in it, and it just makes the world a better place. Its true..

 Even alcohol tastes better with coke. Have you ever heard anyone say.." I'll have a rum & PEPSI ..please"..Chheeeee..Yuckk.....its Rum & Coke..Vodka & Coke..even Whisky  and Coke..and all of these taste yummm...Its ALWAYS COKE.. even in the most random cocktails..

Its like going to a bakery and asking for chocolate cake (most awesome, most popular AND most delicious kind of cake ever..anywhere!) and instead being offered black forest cake !.YUCCKKKKKK......WHY would I purposely substitute black forest over chocolate, when chocolate is definitely what I WANT..No baker would be caught dead saying " Oh, we don't have chocolate cake"..What is possible though is, " Sorry chocolate cake is over" which I get, Coz EVERYBODY loves chocolate cake..and since its a perishable item, if its not available, its not..No hard feelings there.

But Coke isn't perishable. And trust me, Coke is to soft-drinks, what Chocolate is to cake. So if you do own/ plan to own a restaurant/ bar/ pub, I suggest you start stocking up...like NOW!

AWWWW...even babies get it!  ;)  :)

So.. yea..off-course COKE RULES over PEPSI..and i'm a loyalist. I will never in my sane mind have Pepsi, when Coke or any of its variants like Diet Coke or Coke Zero is available..If i want a soft drink its COKE..(or sprite, but that just feels like a different category..). And If i want cake..Its gonna be chocolate (or cheesecake)

And I'm sorry if your the kind who prefers Pepsi over Coke and black forest cake over Chocolate...In my eyes your weird..Sorry..thats the truth..
But if i know you & like you..then don't worry, I'll accept your weirdness anyway :P

The Perfect Valentine...

Hmmm.. So, is there any particular valentines day that you remember?..somebody "special" who made the day "special"?..thought of him?..Ok..Good! now STOP thinking about him..Because i'm sure the following list of hotties will anyway make you forget.. :P. 

Following is the list of some people who I would characterize as the "Perfect Valentines"

Ryan Gosling  :) --> Mr. Gorgeous alert !!...

Isn't he just amazing..if you still haven't seen crazy stupid love or my blue valentine.. Then PLEASE download them today itself and watch his brilliant acting..and off course the SuperGoodLooks are hard to miss..!

Mr. David Beckham --> Hes a dream ! :)

Everybody remembers the weird girl in Bend it like Beckham who went so gaga over him that started playing football..!..LOL. But yea, his looks and his charm are enough to make any girl go cuckoo..even just by looking at him from the television ! :o 

Mr. Ashton Kutcher--> *mwahs*

He is just SO CUTE!..whether its Alot like Love or That 70's Show..or even the new seasons of Two n a Half men or No Strings Attached...(both of which i only saw because of him and absolutely nothing else)..this guy just wins you over with his tall-goofy-casual yet sooo dreamy charm. His smile lights up a thousand bulbs..somewhere..sigh :)

 

Mr. Timberlake--> had me at "friends with benefits" 

Its true..I didn't like him so much before. Even in  the social network..I was just mildly impressed..but Friends with Benefits is so far one of the movies I can watch again & again. I guess..a lot of not liking him came from the fact that he dated Britney Spears as a teenage pop-star..Plus his music..whether in N'SYNC or individually, had a few songs I liked but wasn't hugely part of my playlist ever..

The only Desi boy who I think would fall in the category of MY PERFECT valentines..His looks are cute..given..But thats not it..I like him for the unusual movies he does (socha na tha..such a cute movie!) and the fact that he is not like his cousins ( u know those with the dhai kilo ka haath) everything else is pretty wonderful about him..except that he has a very weird looking girlfriend ! :o ..sorry.. need to keep such jealousies under control..LOL

Other contenders from the Desi Boyz team, who ALMOST made it were Ranbir Kapoor, Imran khan and uhm...well....uhm....right, NO ONE!!.. yes thats the plight.. :(

So, anyway girls..non-celebrity boyfriends will come and go and please don't judge those poor souls on celebrity standards because then you will either be forever sad or forever alone..And no one wants that..

Anyway my dearies, on a brighter note, who is YOUR PERFECT VALENTINE??.. Do watch his movie/game/show/music video today! And if you feel like comment below and share :)

Hello December

The wait is over..!! :D

Now, I don't exactly "wait" for December as such, but yes its true..I'm pretty fond of this month

Its the month of B'Days (ME, some of my friends & cousins), Christmas Gifts, Holidays, Weddings and all kinds of end of the year Jazz

For me,its also the month when I start thinking about how the past year went...The highs & the  lows..Achievements & Failures..Entry & exit of people from my life..The places I went..What I learnt..etc etc.. Its basically a month of recap..like finishing of a chapter/para/page  in the story of 

MY LIFE 

Its just the 1st so the recap hasn't actually begun in full swing..plus frankly I'm not exactly in a mood to pen it down..at least not for now..So I'm just gonna put some images of stuff that became a  part of my life this year..Its REALLY RANDOM so be prepared..

Yup I'm a spectacled beauty now..If you've read THIS post you would know... ;)

I used to watch Popeye The Sailor Man as a kid and once Olive got her nails painted and they used wooden toe separators..even then I thought.."WOW..this is kool.." and since then I've ALWAYS wanted these and for some reason I NEVER found them..But this year I did..That too, in my local Daily Superstore..! :o
And isn't the nail filer just too cute ! :)

My new BB Curve 9380..Not only is it a brilliant phone but the best part is I bought it with my own self-earned money..Yea, I'm kinda proud that way..

The ONLY FICTIONAL book I read this year..Yes..shame on Me...But with the assignments, field trips, classes and all the madness I'm surrounded with I'm happy I managed to finish it..Its a good read by the way..

Knew about the brand NYX since quite some time now..But never manage to buy it. This year I finally did..from an online store. The nail polishes are called Wild (left) and Jewel (right) and the lipstick (center) called Dandy is from the Black Label Collection ..lovely natural shade.. I'm REALLY glad I finally bought NYX..Just LOVING the products !

(again I don't understand why it won't turn) 

So.. Yea.. A square ring...This is just here for the randomness..But I Like it.. So funky ! :)

Yup, that summarizes this post.

If  you know me (in real life i.e.) you have probably tolerated my incessant whining about my  hair.."frizzy.!!..breaking too much..!!..rough..!!"..yea.. I've had major hair woes since my "hair smoothning" wore off and obviously this rainy weather doesn't help.

I've been looking for a good shampoo for a long time. Was bored and borderline unsatisfied with the one I was using (have spoken about it here)So one day while browsing through flipkart when i saw John Frieda- Brilliant Brunette, i remembered having read good reviews about it on someone's blog. So decided to try it and placed an order.

I've used it 3-4 times now and i'm seriously happy with my decision !! :)

What it claims: Moisturizing shampoo, brings out rich multi- dimensional  brunette tones & shine
 
What it contains: Formula with crushed pearls & sweet almond oil

I'm happy with it because : hair loss has reduced tremendously !
                                         hair is shinier, softer and more manageable
                                         lathers very well ( don't require more than a coin size amount)
                                         Even with shipping, cheaper than L'Oreal Professional range (which I've been using on n off..ALSO, i was planning to switch to Kerastase..so..YAY..money saved !! :) )

What I don't like : Nothing as of now...i'm very pleased !

Price: Rs. 450 ( though I got it at discounted price of Rs 380 ! *evil smile* )

If you've read my last post (here) then you would know this is not about a new green bag but about bags which are Eco-friendly. How do you differentiate between a normal bag & an Eco-friendly bag? well the latter are made of completely natural materials: mostly cloth or jute. Now don't confuse leather bags as Eco friendly!..coz although they are made of a natural material but they are anything BUT Eco-friendly..(remember PETA?!?)
Also, some people might include paper bags in this category but I just fail to understand HOW..I mean you make paper out of trees right?!?..and cutting trees is NOT EQUAL to Eco friendly!!

Now jholas as they popularly known, are available everywhere these days. Taking Delhi in particular,   CP inner circle, Janpath, Dilli Haat, Pahaarganj and all the state emporiums on Baba Kharak Singh Marg have the shops to stop at if you want a good one at a reasonable price. Also many brands like Accesorize,  are selling them. But its your budget that should guide you.

color me green~

..No..not because its the color of my new handbag or shoes( doesn't the idea of green shoes remind you of that creepy Christmas cartoon ?:o ) but becoz its the color of nature!(atleast the one most associated with it)..
Oh but dunt think this is a ''issued in public interest" kinda thing..coz its NOT..but yea if Jholas..or hand made paper is your thing then this post might strike a cord with you :)

And also I've decided to do a series of posts on Eco-friendly stuff 

SO here goes..

Last year on my b'day this friend of mine gifted me something very unique!.shes a hardcore nature lover and totally into recycling ! apart from a nice shrug, this is what she got me..recycled CDs..

..frankly i couldn't decide how to use them at first..coasters?..join them together with a funky ribbon n hang it somewhere?..IDK( exasperated..hands in the air!)

..then THIS struck me..so i put them on my dressing table under nail-polishes,lipsticks, creams etc and added a little ZING (if you may) to the dreary table full of everyday-cosmetic-stuff..!

So start making those old CDs useful!..and if you don't have the time to sit & work your talents on this new artistic medium(hehe)..then catch a younger sibling or a cousin or a neighbor kid..or ANYBODY whos willing..and you have yourself some funky unique stuff!. :)

on a completely different & unrelated note..I'ts Sarah Jessica Parker's b'day today..so Happy B'day to her !

Good Things

Don't we all just love our rooms?Its the one place in the entire house, which can be personalized just the way I want it. Ranging from curtains to photos anything and everything is just according the way I want it to be. I'm the queen of this little universe and it feels great. Whenever I'm out of town, more than homesick, i get "roomsick". can you believe it?I ACTUALLY miss my room. And since i love my room SO much i decided to do a post on it.My room is a mixture of crazy, amazing, and funky  things! but obviously I'm not going to show you all of them ! :p
I have just picked out a few  things which are my favorite and easily available so  if you like, you can pick them up yourself:

1.Table Calendar


this is a calendar which will last forever !..you can figure out why--it just tells the day, date &  month.just flip it everyday and your good to go :)
I bought it from a Happily Unmarried shop for Rs 80. This shop has awesome stuff and they mostly have stores in most happening places in delhi & also sell their merchandise through some other stores but in case you haven't visited one, you can check it out online here.

2. Limited edition Audrey Hepburn framed poster
It was limited edition when I bought it ( which was 6 months ago) but it isn't anymore (sadly). Many stores are selling these kind of posters now. I purchased it for Rs 1500 from this shop in GK-I M-Block market called Rio. This is a brilliant shop. a MUST checkout for people with unusual yet classy tastes.

 3. I like to call this a Hanging Door Pillow . Its one of the most wonderful things in my room. Its supposed to be hung on the door, according to the situation ( written on da pillow).  I'm no heiress, but if you must know, it says "heiress" coz its designed by Nicky Hilton. She did her accessories range for CLAIRE's which is an international brand and not yet available in India. I picked it up from London more than a year back.But you can always order online or get any family/friends etc living in europe/usa to get stuff  for you !

I agree its the girliest things ever but i love it ! :)

4.  Poster
I picked this up from a random online poster brand about three years ago, so i don't exactly remember what it was. But what I do remember is that I picked 3 posters in total and paid only Rs 1300 for the total, which was pretty reasonable considering the other 2 posters were of rock bands and much bigger in size. All three posters are still in brilliant condition stuck in different parts of my room. the moral here is to explore the internet thoroughly as there are alot of great deals available online for like everything!.
